New Plesiochronous PDH clocking TDM over IP and TDM over Ethernet PacketBand

Like all PacketBands, the PacketBand TDM-4C provides very accurate clock-recovered E1 over IP and T1 over IP services for a variety of applications, including GSM backhaul.
But, the PacketBand TDM-4C has the important ability to provide a true PDH clocking system where the Transmit (Tx) and Recieve (Rx) clocks can work plesiochronous. This means different clocks at each end of the TDM over IP or TDM over Ethernet link can be supported.
For example, in the illustration below both PABXs (one local and one on a leased line) provide a clock. PacketBand-TDM-4C recovers and delivers each Tx clock as the Rx clock at the other unit. Both clocks are recovered very accurately, ensuring no slips and that the circuit “looks” like a dedicated end-to-end link whereas it is using a low-cost non-clocked Packet Network.

All four ports of the PacketBand-TDM-4C can be individually clocked across the IP or Ethernet network and various clocking, power and down-strean Ethernet ports are available.
Please note that this model of PacketBand can also work with a single sourced clock where the recovered clock at the remote end is both the Tx and Rx. See clock option document.
Although similar in basic functionality to the PacketBand-TDM-4G supporting 1, 2 or 4 E1/T1s, this model has some key differences:
- PDH/plesiochronous clocking
- All 4 ports’ Tx and Rx can be clocked independently
- Slightly smaller chassis where 2 can be located into a 1U space
- Separate external clock port
- Optional POE (Power over Ethernet) supply
- Unstructured E1 (G.703) and T1 only
