| New to the PacketBand range is a compact low-cost single port BRI ISDN over IP unit.
Part of Patapsco's wider ISDN over IP PacketBand family, the single BRI version delivers clock-locked clear 64k ISDN “B” channels which can be used for transporting any kind of traffic across and through Packet Networks such as BRI over ethernet or BRI over IP. In conjunction with other PacketBand units, dynamically established ISDN calls can be made across a Packet Network with the ability to also break into the “real” ISDN network or receive in-coming calls from the ISDN network.
Equipment connected to the Packet Network can not only communicate with others on the network, but any other device connected to the public ISDN network anywhere in the world, making it an ideal migration tool.
BRI over IP and BRI over Ethernet is only possible because of the PacketBand’s advanced clock-recovery mechanisms which make sure calls are error-free and without slips and the end-to-end handling of the ISDN Layer 2 and 3 signaling.
A sophisticated algorithm also means each unit clocks from the most appropriate device, ensuring the optimum service.
Routing parameters are held within each PacketBand or optionally using a newly-released centralised SIP server. |
