Distributed drop and insert E1 T1 mux (or multiplexer) cross-connect switch or DACs

Patapsco’s Liberator-TDM delivers unique distributed cross-connect multiplexing capabilities for E1 and T1 services, in both clear and fractional modes.

Each PacketBand-TDM mux element supports 4 E1 T1 circuits in a non-blocking cross-connect architecture. Additional ports are simply added to provide multiples of 4 ports up to a maximum of 40 interfaces – all non-blocking.

The distributed architecture means interfaces can be located in the racks or parts of a building, base or campus where they are needed. It also means there is enhanced resilience.

Liberator-TDM supports both E1 and T1 interfaces (user-selectable) and both clear and channelised (structured) modes (use-selectable) and can convert between E1 and T1 when using channelised operation.

Liberator-TDM is approved for connection to leased lines in many countries, including Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, having both safety and emission approvals as well and telecoms approvals.

Clocks are distributed via a clocking hierarchy with automatic switch-over should a clock fail. Clocks are distributed around all connected Liberator-TDMs and units without a clock source directly connected will still be synchronised to the main clock.

Liberator-TDMs have power-failure relays on each of the two pairs of ports for extra resilience and are managed via an intuitive carrier-class Manager giving visibility of all units, links and with diagnostics such as loops etc.

Depending upon cable and other circumstances, Liberator-TDMs can be up to 1.5Kms from each other using CAT5E cable. For extra resilience a redundant switch can be located between Liberator-TDMs

The Liberator-TDM is a low-cost flexible TDM cross-connect DACs or switch with unique distributable capabilities.
