Whilst networking technology has moved on, and many organisations have migrated their traditional leased lines to packet-based systems, many leased lines still exist and many remain critical for key legacy applications.

Patapsco have a range of ISDN leased line backup devices which have been sold in their thousands to large well-known carriers and corporates around the world. Many are still installed and are being supported by Patapsco.

Whilst not a current focus, Patapsco still have products, the expertise and ability to provide equipment to customers.

Some carriers, for example British Telecom (BT), are gradually ceasing their commercially available ISDN backup services. BT provided a service called KiloStream Assured Restored (KAR) which in its early days used a product from Racal called the “DAP” which was then replaced by Patapsco’s DataBand range, both the DB120 chassis and the small remote units.
