What type of network does the PB-ISDN need?

  • Because the ISDN service is clock-locked and ideal for synchronous applications, it is important that the Jitter or Packet Delay Variation (PDV) is within certain limits so data arrives in time for the clock pulse
  • Typically PB-ISDN will be used on a managed Packet Network.
  • Quality of Service ( QoS) support within the network ensures low packet loss and fast responses.
  • Ethernet, IP and MPLS networks can be used. VLAN tagging is supported.
  • Under some circumstances Broadband Internet can be used .
